Familienleistungen-Rechner.de was born from the observation that many families in Germany don't know which state benefits they're entitled to — or how much they amount to in concrete numbers. We want to change that: with transparent, source-based calculators and accessible guides. We do not sell financial products and do not broker insurance. The website is funded exclusively via contextual advertising (Google AdSense), shown only after user consent.

Editor-in-Chief
Elena leads the editorial team at familienleistungen-rechner.de. She researches and updates the calculators and guides based on official legislation and federal authorities. Her goal: making complex social benefits understandable and accessible for families.

Research & Editorial Desk — Family Benefits
Our editorial team verifies every amount and legal basis against official sources before publication: Gesetze-im-Internet (EStG, BEEG, BKGG, UhVorschG), Bundesagentur für Arbeit, BMFSFJ and familienportal.de. Statutory changes are reflected in the calculators within 30 days of taking effect.
Source Verification & Editorial Quality Assurance
Before every release, our fact-check team reconciles the core figures — Kindergeld rate, Elterngeld thresholds, Kinderzuschlag tiers, Düsseldorfer Tabelle — with the latest official publications. Every cent shown in a calculator is traceable to a specific statute or agency notice.
Editorial Desk — Family Taxation
Our tax desk prepares content on the Kinderfreibetrag, BEA allowance, single-parent relief and tax-class selection during Elterngeld. The basis is the EStG (§§ 31, 32, 24b, 38b) and current BMF directives. Calculations are reconciled against the income-tax tariff § 32a EStG.
Editorial Desk — Social Benefits
We prepare all family-related social benefits outside the classic Elterngeld/Kindergeld system — in particular Kinderzuschlag (§ 6a BKGG), Bürgergeld (SGB II), Wohngeld (WoGG) and Unterhaltsvorschuss (UhVorschG). Amounts are reconciled against the annual standard-rate ordinances and Familienkasse operating instructions.
Reader Contact & Editorial Corrections
We respond to every reader enquiry within 48 hours and feed correction requests directly into the editorial pipeline. Incorrect amounts are fixed within 24 hours and the change history is documented transparently on the Methodology page.

Source-based
Every number has an official source: statute text, federal agency or official portal. We don't invent amounts and don't copy figures from third-party sources without primary verification.
Regular updates
Family benefits change annually or whenever the legislator amends them. We re-check every calculator and guide within 30 days of new rules taking effect. Last reviewed: January 2026.
Transparency about limits
Our calculators are estimation tools, not official assessment notices. We mark clearly which factors are simplified and link to the responsible agency (Familienkasse, Elterngeldstelle, Jugendamt).
No conflicts of interest
We don't sell financial products, broker insurance or earn commissions. The website is funded via Google AdSense (only after user consent). Advertising does not influence editorial decisions.
Correction policy
Reader feedback is answered within 48 hours; content corrections are implemented within 24 hours and documented in the change log on /methodik.
